This project successfully concluded with the inauguration of the Fiat Village Livelihood Centre on January 2012 after a 5-month construction period that began in September 2011. The realization of this center would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors, large and small.
Special thanks and acknowledgement to the members of Batang Bayani-Austria, who contributed nearly 5,000 euros from the proceeds of their fund-raising activity to this project.
A Multi-purpose center to benefit multiple lives
This is the companion web site for a fund raising project to help build a multi-purpose, livelihood center for the families living in a Gawad Kalinga-built village in the outskirts of Silay City in the Philippines. This center will be a major milestone in the villagers' quest to improve their community and build a better life for their families. It will house their livelihood efforts, serve as a workplace and a show room for their handicrafts and produce, thus providing a source of regular income and employment for members of the GK village.
